Charles Porter Bell (Chuck) passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. He was born in Charlotte on September 6, 1954 to the late Patricia Warner Bell and Alexander Washington Bell II. He spent his early childhood in Mt. Holly before moving to Charlotte and attended Charlotte Country Day School. Upon graduation he went to Lenoir Rhyne University and studied business. He traveled out west pursuing photography and sailed from Norfolk Virginia thru the Panama Canal and on to Palmyra Atoll south of Hawaii.

CHUCK AND I FIRST MET AT CHARLOTTE COUNTRY DAY SCHOOL IN THE 2ND GRADE. WE WERE THE TRUE REBELS ON CAMPUS; DRAWING PICTURES AND PLAYING THE DEVIL. OUR FRIENDSHIP CONTINUED INTO ADULTHOOD, UNTIL THE END OF HIS LIFE. CHUCK WAS A BEAUTIFUL MAN, VERY CREATIVE AND FULL OF LIFE. HE WILL BE MISSED, AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM LIKE A BROTHER. BLESSINGS GEORGE BLANCHARD

I just learned of Chucks passing like David T mentioned the cyclone and the allman brothers always went down well. Live at filmore east and eat a peach as i recall. Chuck and i and David Townsend used to have good fun on the dirt bikes all over southeast clt Wide open doing power-slides. Just did not get any better. Will miss his spirit and good fellow approach to life and friends we have been in raleigh for many years but have always remembered our fun and friendship John miller

I am saddened to learn of Chuck´s death. What a great guy! I will never forget hearing the Allman Brothers for the very first time in his white Mercury Cyclone on an eight-track tape player in the `70´s. He loved music and as I remember could play the heck out of a harmonica! I lost track of Chuck, as I have so many friends, and my heart goes out to his family.

I met Chuck back in the 80's when he was working his carpentry talent, and he was a very good one. I will remember him for infectious smile and love of photography and motorcycles. I was lucky to know him and work along side him.
