Donna Speight Obituary
(Stewart)
Mrs. Stewart, age 52, of 4617 Arbor Loft Court, Charlotte, NC, died Thursday, December 11, 2008, at her home. She was employed by State Farm Insurance and was a member of South Albemarle Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home, 1111 E. Blvd., Charlotte, and Monday 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at South Albemarle Baptist Church 1005 South Second Street, Rev. Jessie Dennis and Dr. David Morrow officiating. Interment will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle.
Donna was born July 26, 1956 in Stanly County. She was a graduate of Albemarle Senior High and UNC Charlotte. She was a select agent, and a silver scroll agent for State Farm in Charlotte. She loved her chocolate lab, Bode. She loved her family and was a caretaker to all of her family, and her friends, who she considered her 'extended family'. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all.
The family will meet at her home in Charlotte, and her mother's home in Albemarle.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Gadd Speight and Ramona Holt Speight of Albemarle.
She is also survived by her husband of twenty years, William Donald Stewart; three brothers, Dale Speight and wife Sherrie, and Joe Speight of Albemarle, Tim Speight and wife Wendy of Normal, IL; one sister-in-law, Kathy Copeland and husband Bob of Atlanta, GA; nephews, Kyle Speight, Adam Barringer, Jay Speight, Chris Speight, Sammy Speight, and Tommy Copeland; nieces, Emily Speight, Olivia Speight, Ruthie Speight, and Kaci Berry; one great nephew and Godson, Duncan Berry; and great nephew, Logan Berry.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 and Ronald McDonald House, P.O. Box 35129, Charlotte, NC 28235-5129.

I was completely shocked and devastated when I received the letter about Donna's passing. I want to express my deepest sympathies to her family. She was always very friendly and extremely helpful with everything. She will certainly be missed a lot. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I received a letter in the mail dated Dec 19, 2008. We were stunned. Donna was a true professional. My wife and I loved Donna's smile, warm and welcoming personality. May God blessed her husband and the family and keep you safe. We share in the memories and we do care.

We have been with State Farm for many years and were shocked when we received the letter that Donna had passed away. She was always so nice and helpful! No matter how long it had been seen we last spoke she always remembered to ask about our boys and family. She was just such a sweet person! She just really cared! Our thoughts and prayers are with Michelle and the staff and all her family. She will be missed!

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Donna's passing. She became my agent this past March and although we only spoke by phone, I felt secure with her professional, cordial and helpful attitude. A person with such warmth will be greatly missed by all. Rest well with our Lord, Donna.

I was shocked to learn of Donna's passing. She has been my insurance agent since 1991 when I relocated to Charlotte. I had an appointment with her this summer and she was such a delight to work with. She will be missed. My deepest sympathies to her family, friends, and co-workers.

I had the wonderful experience knowing her as a roommate, friend, co-worker and as my insurance agent. This wonderful experience lasted 30 years. She was the most caring, loving and giving person. She had that twinkle in her eye and you knew all would be well when she was around. She always reached out to people and had this amazing gift of making you feel so special. I will always treasure our friendship and know that my life was made better because she crossed my path.

I learned today of Donna's passing and I am truly saddened. She was a great lady -- a true gentlewoman -- and a very special person. I've known her since we were located to Charlotte 8 years ago and found her to always keep us foremost in her thoughts. I know all her clients felt the same way. I'm just learning of Donna's passing today. I still have a saved voice mail message from her asking me to follow up with her regarding some updates to my policy and had planned to call her back this week. It's hard to believe she is gone, she was our agent for 13+ years. She always took the time to inquiry about our children and had a geninue interest in her clients. She will truly be missed.

I just learned today and was very, very saddened of Donna's passing. She has been my agent since moving to Charlotte in 1989 and loved her incredible cheerfulness and attitude. She touched many lives and will be missed greatly. She will always be remebered as one of the greats.

My heart is heavy and filled with sadness. I will greatly miss not seeing Donna's smiling face or hear the laughter in her voice every time I stop by the office or pick up the phone and call. I met Donna 11 years ago, once I married into the ISOM family, my husband Kelvin loved his insurance agent and wanted me to meet her, as soon as we said “our I do’s” and once I have met Donna, I could to believe how nice she was, in getting me added to Kelvin insurance policy, she was up front, to the point and honest with us, we kept close contact with her through out our marriage, we just found out Sunday night, we are devastated to here this and to lose such a Great & Wonderful Women, Donna had a very BIG heart, Kelvin and I and little Massiah, will miss Donna and we Pray that her family finds peace to know she has gone home and she is here with us in our hearts.

We are very sad to lose a wonderful person. Don, we are thinking of you and praying you find comfort and peace during this difficult time. Donna was a special person and I am glad I was able to see you both this year. We will miss stopping by her office whenever we visited Charlotte; Mom still has a picture Donna took of the boys when we stopped by several years ago. Dear Don and family, I met Donna when I was a freshman at UNCC, she was a suite mate. I visit Charlotte to see friends and a highlight of my trip was the night I spent with Donna and Don. I am so sad that our world has lost such an incredible person, who ALWAYS gave so much of herself to others. Her smile, her eyes that sparkled, her laugh and witty sense of humor will remain with all of us. There are no words, there just are not. May the faith we have hold you up, know that your loss is felt by many and we are praying for you. I believe Donna is one step ahead of us, with God and others who love her already in heaven. As we say good-bye, those in heaven shouted "here she comes". Donna was not a regualr person, she was an extra ordinary woman, friend, and a wife who LOVED her husband. I will forever hold a place in my heart for Donna. Don, I know you have a network that will support you, they want to be there for you, it's the same thing Donna would do.
