Earlene Lindsay Massey MOUNT HOLLY - Earlene Lindsay Massey, beloved wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma passed away at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Born December 31, 1932, in Charlotte, NC in Thomasboro before making a home in Holden Beach, NC and later moving to Mount Holly. She retired from Union Carbide after many years of service. She was a caregiver for her ageing parents for many years. She was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge 1113 and enjoyed many years of camping, traveling cross country, NASCAR races and her favorite place Holden Beach, where she spent many hours shell hunting, fishing and enjoying her family. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Henry Bart Massey, daughters Dian Ross, Connie Bradburn and husband Rex, Margaret Massey, Karen Smith and husband Mark and Wendy Yow and companion Kevin; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; her sisters Betty Horton and Vivian Prince. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Lesbia Earney Lindsay, a son Eddie, three sisters Deloris Davis, Margaret Rogers and Jean Hill. The family would like to offer special thanks to mom's nurse Gretchen Young, Betty Waters and Chaplain Greg Qualls of Gaston Hospice A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Massey will be held 7:30pm Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice or charity of your choice.
