Dear Carole and Sarah,
We remember all those whistling tunes down the driveway with Henry leading Eric. Eric in his tennis whites after a hard game of tennis wearing a big smile -- and Henry happy to be going for his nightly walk. So many wonderful memories we shall cherish.
Our love and deepest sympathies to you both,
Jack and Judy

I knew Eric at Springs and saw him socially with friends at Hembstead. We would also see him so dapper in his tuxedo at Blumental.Just befor Christmas I ran into him at belks shopping. We caught up and he was so pleased with his life, the forthcoming wedding, a spring concert , all was great. What a neat, nice guy I thought, and want to say again. RIP Eric.

My wife, Amy, and I met Eric at Laurel Market several years back, maybe as many as ten years ago. We would get coffee early each morning together and Eric was always sitting on the porch. Our good morning greetings turned into short chats and, as time went on, longer visits on the porch.
Eric was the anchor at Laurel Market, along with Bob and Ray, and the morning gatherings frequently included Angela, David, Scott, Patrick, Andy and Ray – the police officers, Laura when she wasn't in Aspen, Harold especially on the weekends, and many others. We were all regulars and gathered to say hello each morning around Eric, who always sat in his “designated” chair. We all respected his “chair” and reserved it for him if anyone arrived first.
As Amy and I got to know Eric, he invited us on several occasions to the oratorio, most recently the Messiah after which we enjoyed cocktails. And we had the opportunity to go together to the Panther's / New England football game late last fall. Over the years, we all continued many of our conversations via email talking and opining about everything from politics to sports to family – even though we never solved a single problem.
Friendships are special and very precious, and they can come from anywhere if you just first say hello. We miss Eric now as we did when he traveled to India for business or was absent some days for other reasons. Amy and I keep thinking we are going to see him but, along with the rest of his Laurel Market friends, now experience sadness each morning when we get coffee and he is not with us.
There was richness with Eric's friendship that we lost last week and it just doesn't seem true. We keep thinking he'll be back. We keep hoping to one day see Eric again, greeting us with coffee and paper in hand, and Zoey by his side.
We will keep our memories of Eric dear in our hearts. And our thoughts and prayers go out to Carol, Sarah and the rest of the family.

Dear Carole and Sara,
We are so deeply sorrowful to learn of your (and our) loss. We so enjoyed and loved having your husband and dad as a dental patient. He always was so pleasant and never arrived without the newspaper! We will miss him so. Please know we are thinking of you both.

I did not know Mr. Loges, but if one's children are a reflection of the quality of the parent, he must've been a fine man, indeed, as Sara is one of the best and brightest I know. My condolences to one and all that are touched by his passage.

I canNOT believe this! Eric and I have talked and laughed at Oratorio many a night, and he always exhibited a cheerful demeanor. To his family and close friends, this must be extremely difficult for you. As you go through this, please know that I am sending good thoughts your way. I will definitely miss Eric, as I'm sure many of us will in Oratorio.

I will always remember Eric's dry sense of humor and infectious grin. He taught me so much during our tenure together...most importantly how to embrace change.
Eric will be missed. RIP to a great man.

Dear Carol and Sara,
I winced yesterday when learning of Eric's passing. The untimeliness. The loss of someone so full of mental and physical energy. I am hugely sorry.
I think of Eric in his Larchmont Shore Club tennis whites. He was so fit and energetic. Even after a vigorous game of tennis he could lob a smart retort back to Ted. I think of Eric wandering into our kitchen on a Sunday morning as we were making pancakes. Most keenly though, I think of Eric peering down at Edward and I from his balcony. He thought us curious creatures lacking proper oversight and enrichment, but he took it upon himself to keep an eye on us, drop by unannounced, and ensure that things didn't get too wayward across the road. Yet, when Thomas came along, the task became too daunting and he proclaimed "Nuns Flee, Schools Close".
I will miss Eric. But above all, it pains me to think of your suffering and the irreparable hole for you both.
Please know that you are in my thoughts.
Love,
Katharine Nash. (née Trafford)
