Frances Springs Obituary

Frances Kendrick Springs
January 1, 1933 - May 17, 2023
Mount Holly, North Carolina - Frances Kendrick Springs, also affectionately known as "Miss Frances" or "Miss Tack," 90, died at the Caromont Regional Medical Center on May 17, 2023. She was born in Gaston County, the daughter of Garrie Lee and Laura "Lollie" Kendrick. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Yates Springs, to whom she was married 66 years, and her sister, Ann "Dubbie" Brinkley.
Frances is survived by her children, Greg Springs (Sarah), Kathy Springs Jones (David), and William Springs (Tina); her grandchildren, Ashley Jones Gammon (Gary), Adam Springs (Danielle), Regan Springs Verchick (Pierce), Noah Springs, and Luke Springs; her great - grandchildren, Savannah and Tatum Springs, numerous nieces and nephews, countless friends, and uncountable people she touched throughout her life.
After graduating from Mount Holly High School, Frances graduated from Greensboro Women's College earning a degree in Education, which she used her entire life. She began teaching at Shamrock Gardens Elementary School in Charlotte. After taking time to rear her three children, Frances finished out her career as an Exceptional Children's teacher at Page Elementary School in Belmont. In addition to receiving rewards from teaching, Frances was selected as the Mount Holly Woman of the Year in 2008. She served on the board of Gaston County's Habitat for Humanity and the Mount Holly Parks and Recreation Committee, among other boards and committees. She was a devout member of the Mount Holly First Presbyterian Church, serving as a follower of Christ, which was always apparent in her smile, friendliness, compassion, love, empathy for others, and her strong Christian lifestyle. To be honest, when Frances went to our Lord, the world got a little darker, while Heaven got a little brighter.
The family will greet guests from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, at the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Holly, 133 South Main Street, Mount Holly, NC 28120. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:30 p.m, also at the church. Interment will conclude at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mount Holly.
Donations may be made to the Woodlawn Haven Residents' Loving Care Fund, The Community Relief Organization of Mount Holly, Habitat for Humanity of Gaston County, and/or The First Presbyterian Church of Mount Holly.

Frances was such a kind and loving woman. We lived in NC for several years and rented the administrators house. Frances took us under her loving wings and was like a Grandma to our 2 kids. God puts angels in our lives here on earth. She was very special to us.

I was so very sad to read that my cousin "Tack" has passed away. My sister-in-law Virginia and I saw Tack and Dubbie at another relative's funeral in Cherryville before the pandemic and so enjoyed talking with them. Our fathers were brothers. You have my deepest sympathy.
