Gary Glick Obituary

Gary L. Glick age 67, of Charlotte, NC, lost his battle with his heart on December 28, 2002. Gary was born on December 23, 1935 in Lansing, Michigan. He graduated from Lansing's Eastern High School in 1953. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Michigan State University, and began his long career in sales, mostly in the automobile industry. He moved to Charlotte, NC in 1987, and met and married Jane Cook. He worked at Metrolina Dodge, in Charlotte, in Fleet Management. At one time was acknowledged as one of the top 5 Fleet Managers in the nation. Gary had many unique gifts, especially his ability to love unconditionally, and laugh in the face of adversity. He kept his wonderful, dry sense of humor until the end. One of the most important things he taught his family was not to judge people by the color of their skin, but by what was within. He had an unabiding love of jazz music and could identify each musician in most any given song.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Jane; two sons, Bret (Tracy) and Garrett; and three daughters, Shawn (Doug) Rider, Stephanie (Fernando) Martinez, and Jennifer (Mark) Shelton. He had 13 grandchildren whom he adored.
The family will be having a private memorial service to honor Gary's life.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund is being set up for his son, Garrett. Contributions may be sent to Shawn Rider, 1003 Gold Finch Ct., Kingston Springs, TN 37082.
