Gary Sitton Obituary

Gary D. Sitton, a lifelong outdoorsman, died unexpectedly on April 29th, 2016 at the age of 61 while at home.

Gary was born in Bryson City, NC on August 20th, 1954. At the age of 6, he and his family moved to Brevard, NC. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 on Wednesday May 4th at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City, NC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friends of the Smokies whose aim is to protect the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sharon and Noranda, we were saddened to learn of Gary's passing and wanted to let you, his wife and son know you will be remembered in our prayers as you try to adjust to this great loss. You probably won't remember me but we met briefly at Clayton's funeral service. Ethel was my first cousin but our paths didn't cross very often and I never had an opportunity to get to know her children. Even so, my heart goes out to you all and I wanted you to know. I've shared this with your other McDowell County family members. We all wanted you to know you may be far away but you have not been forgotten.

I went to high school with Gary. He was well liked by many and I was sad to hear he passed away but glad he had a good life. Prayers to his family.

Noranda,Sharon and David I am so sorry for the unexpected loss of Gary. I found out through Roxanne. The last couple times I saw him was when he was visiting dad and I was there. I know he will be deeply missed.
