Howard Burnette

1940 - 2025

Born on December 28, 1940, in South Hill, Virginia, Howard was the son of the late Gladys Parham Burnette and John Hanie Burnette.

Howard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jan McCants Burnette. Together they built a family rooted in love, resilience, and faith.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Jennifer Burnette Pagani (Joe); his brothers, Thomas Montgomery, Hanie Goode, and Jimmy Randolph Burnette; his sisters, Ela Burnette Strum (Red) and Nancy Burnette Armstrong (Bunny); and his brother-in-law, Raymond Wilson McCants.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jan McCants Burnette; his son, Jeffrey Brian Burnette (Erin); his sisters, Margaret B. Creacy (Sonny) and Barbara Love McGee (James); his brother, John Perry Burnette; and his three grandchildren, Rocco William and Luca Burnette Pagani, and Parker Brown Burnette, who were the light of his life.

Howard will be remembered as a man of strong character and gentle spirit, who found joy in family gatherings and pride in the accomplishments of his loved ones. His legacy of love and devotion will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
