I think of you quite often...Dr. Yongue. I have your photo in my office and I can glance at your smiling face and reflect on the manner in which you influenced me and others especially while at JCSU. You were an exceptional individual with a "down to Earth" attitude and demeanor. I cherish those pleasantries and am grateful for having come in direct contact with you during four years of my tenure. Rest in Paradise. "Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way" (Booker T. Washington). Respectfully submitted by: Artemus Flagg, Ph. D. of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Graham,NC community was sadden to hear of the passing of Mrs. Yongue. She and her husband were teachers at Graham High School in the '50s. Approximately 60 years later, we all fondly remember her daily charge to us, "so help me Hannah, you're going to see this again." I will remember her with great
respect and love.

I was really saddened to hear of Jean's passing. She was a very delightful person to know. I thank her for opening her home to the 2nd Ward Alumni group on many occasions as well as their home in Blacksburg. She and Dr. Yongue were staunch supporters. Peace to the family.

Ms. Yongue (Ms. Jean) was truly a lovely woman.
She has been our friend and neighbor for many years and we are so sad that she's been taken from our lives.
She will certainly be missed. I am just grateful to have known her. Every year when I see the purple crocus bloom, I will always think of her. She adored them.
I sincerely hope the family can find peace and comfort during this time.

Gene was a delightful person with her raspy voice and jovial nature. She and my maternal grandfather were first cousins, and I had the pleasure of getting to know her when I was a young child. She and my mother were close cousins and friends, and I know that she is at peace now with her beloved husband and other family members including my mother who have gone on to glory. Many prayers for her immediate family during this tragedy.

My most sincerest condolences go out to the immediate and extended family of Dr. Imogene Yongue. I first met Dr. Yongue at JCSU. She was a delightful person, always smiling, cheery and with a very upbeat demeanor. In my mind's eye she was an exceptionally positive influence on students, faculty, adminisrators and other University employees. I believe many people at JCSU gravitated to her becaus of her caring attitude, endearing smile, great teaching ability and willingness to build people up. To see her pleasant face assured me that everything was going to be alright. Now that Dr. Imogene Yongue has crossed the bar (something we must all do at life's end) we must now loose her and let her go. There is a brighter side somewhere and certainly Dr. Yongue can walk around heaven all day."Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way" (Booker T. Washington). Respectfully submitted by:
