James Montgomery Obituary

LANCASTER -- Mr. James H. "Jim" Montgomery, age 74, of 3763 Helms Road, died Thursday, March 14, 2002 at his home. He was born June 15, 1927 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Mr. Robert Montgomery and Mrs. Carrie Simpson Montgomery and was the husband of the late Mrs. Juanita Langley Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery retired from Springs Industries - Leroy Plant as a Supervisor in the weaving department, was a member of Unity A.R.P. Church and served our great country during World War II in the United States Army.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by 2 sons, Mr. Jimmy Lee Montgomery and his wife Janice and Mr. Tommy Montgomery; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Kay Montgomery Knight; a brother, Mr. Henry Montgomery; a sister, Mrs. Martha Rushing all of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Montgomery will be 2:00 pm, Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2002 at Unity A.R.P. Church by Dr. Guy Smith with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The Family of Mr. Montgomery will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday evening, March 16, 2002 at Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions to Unity A.R.P. Church Building Fund, 3495 Unity Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
Hartley Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC 803-283-2100 is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Montgomery.
