Charlotte, North Carolina - On September 4th 2022, James Stephen Padgett, went on to meet his Saviour, Jesus Christ. "Steve" was 43 years old and joins his father James W. Padgett in heaven. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Padgett. In a family full of contractors, Steve stood out as the most naturally gifted. He was blessed with the ability to "figure out" anything. He loved movies, music, animals and history. With a contagious smile and a personality to match, Steve was immediately likeable. And to his family he was loved beyond measure. Steve was very passionate about loving and caring for broken people. He was warm, humble, welcoming and relatable.
Steve Spent half his life battling with an addiction. Every time he got clean, he ran straight to the arms of Jesus and his family. He was loved and accepted by his church family and was always eager to spend more time with them. He was exhausted after repeating the cycle for 20 years. That is when Jesus said enough. He defeated the addiction and took Steve home for eternal rest. Steve left behind four children; Madison, William, Jathan and Tate. He also had a beautiful baby boy adopted by a wonderful family.
Services will be held Friday 9/9, receiving friends at 1:00pm and Funeral at 2:00 pm at Promised Land Baptist. 1024 Old Modena St Gastonia NC, 28054

My heart goes out to all of the Padgett family. May God wrap his loving arms around each of u & comfort y´all as only he can do. I no Steve has finally found his perfect peace with Jesus. I love each of uRIP my sweet Nephew!!!

Maddie, my heart is breaking for you and your brothers. May you all lean on God's unfailing love during this time of grieving. Your dad is finally in the arms of the Lord and free at last from his earthly addictions. Love you sweet girl and always here for you.
