Johnsie Marsh Obituary
Phifer Tarlton Marsh
MARSHVILLE -- Mrs. Marsh, 93, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Autumn Care in Marshville. Born May 17, 1914 in Anson County, she was a daughter of the late, Luther B. and Mary Maske Phifer. She was widowed first by Julian C. Tarlton and second by Hoyle L. Marsh. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Ellie Phifer, Alma Newton, Ophelia Caudle, Edna Clark and Margie Thomas, brother, Carl Phifer.
A funeral to celebrate the life of Johnsie will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Marshville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Marsh is survived by sons, Edwin Tarleton and wife Shirley of Glendale Springs, NC, Cullie Tarleton and wife Sylvia of Blowing Rock, NC, Douglas Tarlton and wife Judy of Mooresville, NC and Neal Tarleton and wife Lynne of Matthews, NC; step daughter, Bonnie Avery and husband Lewis of Monroe and Nancy Crump and husband Junior of Marshville; sisters, Grady Preslar, Rachel Allen and Alice Caudle all of Peachland; 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 5 step great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or to the choice of the donor.
The Morgan and Son Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Marsh.
