Hey Dale, Oh my goodness...what to say? My life is better because I met you and Joe...my heart is heavy for you. His laugh is in my head...contagious. And the kindest of hearts. My thoughts are with you.

Joe was a gentleman and a real friend to all of us at LNSC.
We have known Joe for over 30 years from the early days of sailboat racing together on Lake Norman.
The last few years when Joe was the LNSC Harbormaster, he was always caring about how everyone was doing even though he was sick.
We would visit with Joe every time we were up at the lake, and he would say how is Gene, Gene the dancing machine, little Gene and the family.
On August 6, 2017 , we spent time with Joe on the porch at LNSC and he was fighting to the end with a positive attitude as usual.
I know it might be the last time I would see Joe and we spent time reminiscing of the good old days on the lake.
Joe will be missed by all of us and hopefully he will be in a better place were he can sail up in heaven every day.
Sincerely,
Gene, Anne, Gene Jr. and Robert Christiansen

Joe Ray... 35 years we have known you. From landlord, friend and pool team mate. You always had a smile on your face and that funny laugh of yours. I learned alot from you about Harleys. Though I'll never have mine as clean as yours were...lol. I rejoice in the fact that you are now with our Lord. Shagging up a storm if not sailing. And maybe the occasional pool game or bike ride. You are whole again! You will be greatly missed Joe. Until we meet again my friend. Rest easy now.

Joe Dugan, I don't know anyone who had a happier laugh than Joe. To hear him laugh made you feel good.
I've known Joe since we were teenagers. We had tons of fun together. I met him again later in life when I sold him his first large sailboat, it was a fast 25 ft. boat that he loved. We were both charter members of LNSC. He was dock master until the end of his life. I spent lots of weekends with him until his end of life. Joe, my brother I am going to miss you very much. I love you.
