Joseph Preston Huntley
'PawPaw'
Mr. Huntley, 98 passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the home of Donald R. and Gladys McGee with whom he resided. He was born September 29, 1906 in Bishopville, SC. His parents were William Edd and Bertha R. Huntley.
He was a life long member of the Shiloh True Light Church of Christ.
Mr. Huntley was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Bonnie M. Huntley and two sons, Joseph Dewayne Huntley and Clyde M. Huntley.
He is survived by three sons, W. Theron Huntley of Monroe, Cletus E. Huntley and R. Terry Huntley of Charlotte and seven daughters, Alma H. Lee and Mildred H. McGee of Charlotte, Gladys H. McGee of Monroe, Enid H. Watkins of Bishopville, SC, Janice H. Hill and Carol H. Braswell of Indian Trail and Anne H. York of Marshville. He is also survived by one brother and four sisters, 60 grandchildren and 160 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Sunday, January 30 at 4:00 at Shiloh True Light Church of Christ, Mint Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Shiloh True Light Church of Christ, 8614 True Light Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.

I was very sadden to learn of the lost of one of our pioneer who have gone to be with the lord. May God continue to bless the family. Their is no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. Just ask him to see you through.

My uncle Preston was one of my favorites. His interest and zest for life and love for all of his sisters (my mother Melba)and brothers, wonderful children and grand children gave him much love in return over his long and productive life.

His reward shall be in Heaven and we will miss him....
