Katherine Corbin Lowe

Katherine Corbin Lowe CHARLOTTE - Katherine Corbin Lowe, born Devember 18, 1920, of Charlotte, died on June 15, 2012 at Asbury Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy B. Lowe. She was a charter member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Guy H. and Mary Cole Corbin. Also preceding her in death were brothers John H. and Maxx Corbin, and sisters Eloise Poag and Sybil Rogers. She is survived by her son, Bruce and wife Marcia; and three grandchildren, Michelle Huffstetler and husband Kevin, Sharon Lafferty and husband Marc, Corey Lowe and wife Lori. Katherine treasured her seven great-grandsons, Zachary, Jacob and Reid Huffstetler, Troy and Trent Lafferty, and Kodie and Grayson Lowe. Katherine had fond memories of her niece Pat O'Dell, her Birthday Girls, and her adopted, loving family, The Metzgers. she enjoyed her work days spent at Sharon Towers and Sam's Club. She was known as a fiercely independent woman who was able to remain in her own home until recent weeks. Arrangements are being handled by Good Samaritan Funeral Home in Denver, NC. A memorial service of celebration will be held Tuesday, June 19th, at 3pm at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in the Latin-American Chapel, 7424 E. WT Harris Blvd., Charlotte, NC.
