Kimberly Holt Obituary

Kimberly Anne Morris Holt MIDLAND - Kimberly Anne Morris Holt, 46 years of age, of Midland, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016, at her home in Midland. Kim was born February 17, 1969, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Eugene Frederick Nelson, Sr. and Dale Owensby Nelson. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, David Bryan Holt of Midland; brother, Eugene Nelson, Jr. and wife, Tiffany of Matthews; father-in-law, Bill Holt and wife, Nancy of Midland; sister-in-law, Stephanie Yarbrough and husband Scott of Stanfield; nephew and nieces, Maverick, Kiera, and Nova Nelson, and Alex and Sam Yarbrough; as well as her Godchildren Tyler, Justin, Katie and William Morrison; and her special extended family Scott and Mary Morrison of Midland; also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Kim was born in Spartanburg, SC, and then raised in Charlotte. She graduated in 1986 from East Mecklenburg High School, and in 1990 she graduated from East Carolina University with a Degree in Nursing. She enjoyed working as a nurse at Charlotte Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Kim loved the beach and traveling with her husband David. She had a great sense of humor which was evident in her enjoyment of Halloween. One of her favorite things to do was to spoil her nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Kim was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she participated in the choir, handbells and drama programs. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Mark Clontz will be held at 3:00 PM, on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Bethel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Get Your Rear In Gear 5K Run/Walk in Charlotte at coloncancercoalition.org; or Bethel United Methodist Church Handbells, Drama or Building Fund, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland, NC 28107; or Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Dr., Huntersville, NC 28078. David, Dale & Nelson,

Our thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy are with you during your time of grief! Our time here is like a blank page of a book onto which the words written are how we live our lives and what is done in that time. Kim's legacy is a chapter full of the care and love she had for others -- an obvious testament and tribute to her upbringing.

With all the uncertainties in life, it is somewhat comforting to know that there is another soul now watching over us. But, as we all mourn her loss, especially for her husband, mother, brother, in-laws, nieces and nephews, godchildren, aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family, we can also celebrate her life through the "pages" Kim has "written" -- her legacy: the many ways she touched the lives of those who knew her through her kindness and love, her commitment and devotion, her demeanor and sense of humor. To know her was to love her. We are grateful that we were able to have been included in sharing part of her life with us.

Kim, your pain and suffering is over, but we will all miss you terribly!

Dale, there are no words to describe the loss of your beautiful Kim. I wish I could add the right words of comfort. Hopefully that will come in time. And Nelson, I know you will sorely miss Sis and the children, their favorite, fun aunt. Holding you all in my heart and sending healing angels to all of you. Blessings, Diane Ludman

Kim was such a great boss. We hit it off well. Occasionally we would go out for mexican and have a few beers. She was definitely one of the best bosses I've ever had. I know she is in a better place. No pain, suffering or wondering why. It truely breaks my heart for David. Yet she is in a better place than we are. All that love and light and no worries. David, i was blessed to know her and really wish we had stayed in touch after I left there. Her journey is far from over. Yes here on earth but there is so much more to see. We cannot even imagine. My prayers are with you and your family. Take care!!!
