Leigh Boyce Obituary

Leigh Hubbell Boyce MATTHEWS - Leigh Hubbell Boyce, passed away December 11 in Matthews, NC. Born April 17, 1961, in Atlanta, GA to Dr. Robert Hubbell and his deceased wife Jane Pittman Hubbell. She was a resident of Matthews, NC. Graduating from Briarcliff High School Leigh received her nursing license from Dekalb Junior College. Serving as a neo-natal ICU nurse at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA; caring for others was her lifelong passion. She adored taking care of those tiny babies. Leigh left the nursing profession to have a family of her own and devoted the rest of her life to her three beautiful daughters. Leigh was an empathetic lady who reached out to others to offer her support and compassion. Intelligent, witty, and an incredibly generous lady, the room would light up when she came through the door. One of her many gifts was to evoke laughter and bring joy into every situation. Leigh is survived by her father Dr. Robert Hubbell and his wife, Jane; daughters, Stephanie Elia, Marina Elia, and Alexis Elia; sister Holly and husband Bill Bentley and their three children, Brett, Bobby, and Brooke. Also surviving are husband, Jon Boyce and his two children, Beth and husband Martin Aycoth and Stephen and wife Tara Boyce and their two children Lauren and Lindsay. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. A memorial service will be held at Providence United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 22 at 2:00 pm. 2810 Providence Rd., Charlotte, NC 28211. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
