Mrs. Kellogg, 93, died on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006 at Southminster in Charlotte. Born on January 2, 1913 to Walter Lee McManus and Emma Mae Brown McManus in Chatham County, NC, she spent her school years in Greensboro where she moved with her family when she was six years old. For many years she was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Charlotte Rescue Mission. She became well known for her annual sale of pecans to support the Mission. In her sixties she became interested in exercise at the Y, an interest she pursued with aerobics classes and work outs 4 to 5 times a week until 5 months ago.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lorena was preceded in death by her youngest son Ed in 1976, her sister Eula Marshburn and her brother Walter. She is survived by her son Walter and his wife Jan, "adopted" granddaughters Lindsey and Christian Hambacher, her son Bob and his wife Dottie, her beloved granddaughter Hunter Fuerstman and her husband Mischa, and her great-grandchildren Sydney and Nate.
