Maurice Langston Obituary

Maurice R. Langston
Mr. Langston, age 75 of the Wayside Community, Winfield, AL, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Mr. Langston is survived by his wife, Myra; his daughter, Candice Langston von Uklanski and son in-law Felix von Uklanski of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Jimmie Langston of Tuscumbia, AL and Glen Langston of Winfield; and four sisters, Frances Beasley and Carolyn Mann, both of Jasper, Freda Hubbert of Atlanta, and Nelda Oswalt of Fayette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Alma Webster Langston.
After graduating from Winfield High School, Maurice attended University of North Alabama. He lived in Charlotte, NC from 1967 until his retirement in 2001. At his retirement, he was Vice Chairman of National Tobacco Co., served on the Board of Directors of West Virginia Wholesalers Assoc., and the Southern Tobacco and Candy Assoc. He lived in the Wayside community since 2001 and was a member of the Wayside Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Wayside Methodist Church where the body will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery with James Dodson and William E. Atkinson officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence this evening beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wayside Methodist Church or Old Union Cemetery Fund.
