Michael J. Ziegler, 62, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Tuesday, the 4th of October 2016 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House - Southminster surrounded by his family. Michael was born the 5th of August 1954 in Manhattan, NY, to John M. Ziegler and Louise Bastien Ziegler. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Michael first worked for Brayberry Sales, which was his uncles company, and this is where Michael learned the business. He worked there for many years until the company went bankrupt. Then the competitor in New England bought the remaining assets, and then he became an independent sales rep for RH Morris, shortly thereafter, Michael took the risk and opened his own business - Turning Concepts Inc. and has operated that business successfully till today. TCI, a distributor of machine parts and related tooling, was Michael's baby. He worked day and night this business - and was a true entrepreneur. The Ziegler family will greet friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, the 7th of October 2016 at Ellington Funeral Services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, the 8th of October 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 507 S. Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC. Michael is survived by his three children: Sharon Ziegler; Carolina Z. Grzych and husband, Richard all of Matthews and Matthews Skelton of Gainesville, GA; his parents, John and Louise Ziegler of Mint Hill, NC; two grandchildren: Ben and Al'Aura Walters; a brother, Robert Ziegler of Oceanside, NJ and his former wife, Cheryll S. Ziegler of Matthews, NC; a special cousin, Kevin Brady of New York and a number of cousins. Michael was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Quann.
