Minnie Barker Obituary

DENVER -- Minnie Rae Foy Barker, 73, of Denver, died Friday, October 4, 2002 at her home. Born July 6, 1929 in Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter of the late James Ray and Minnie Triplett Foy. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, a graduate of Davidson High School Class of 1947, and retired after 25 years of service from Transport Clearing East. Her love for music was apparent when she played the organ and piano.
Minnie Rae is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jean Barker of Denver; brother, Frank L. Foy of Smithville, VA; sister Peggy Foy Pender of Huntersville; and beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Eugene Barker who died February 1991; brothers, Joe and Jim Foy; sisters, Sue Foy Howard and Agnes Foy Stowe. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, October 7, 2002 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Denver with Rev. Gary Fulker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 pm Sunday at Raymer Funeral Home.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymer Funeral Home in Huntersville.
