Myra Holly Austin Reardon
AUGUSTA, GA -- Ms. Reardon was born March 17, 1914 and died August 11, 2005 after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, August 15, 2005 at Platt's Crawford Ave Chapel with The Rev. Randy Monk officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton's Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshville, NC at 4:00 p.m.
Mrs. Reardon was born in Marshville, NC of Fulton Artemus Austin and Mary Allen Austin. She was a registered nurse during World War II; she nursed at the military hospital in Hempstead, NY. After the war, she worked at Charlotte Memorial Hospital and did private duty nursing. She retired in 1975 and lived on Lake Norman, NC. In 2001, she moved to Augusta, GA to live closer to her family. She loved gardening and quilting, and continued to raise flowers all her life.
Survivors include two sons; Patrick Austin Reardon (wife Keith Richardson Reardon) of Fort Worth, TX, and Robert Francis Reardon (Rebecca Jones Reardon) of Augusta, two sisters; Louise Callahan and Vivian Cheney; two grandsons, Alex Mackey and Michael Reardon, one granddaughter, Anne Reardon Anderson, predeceased by two brothers, Locke Austin and Ralle Austin; and one sister, Mary Allen Austin.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 14, 2005 from 2 p.m until 4 p.m.
Platt's Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue, Augusta GA, 30904.
