Patricia O'Regan Obituary

Patricia O'Regan
'Patty'
On October 27, 2011, Patricia A. O'Regan, of Charlotte, died after a 10-year battle with sarcoma cancer. Born in Freeport, Long Island, NY in 1947, Patty migrated south, working for Continental Tires and Presbyterian Healthcare. Patty loved great Italian food, her nieces, her loyal pets - Irish and Seamus - and good belly laughs any time she could get them. Patty felt comfortable and cared for while living with Ronnie O'Regan and brother-in-law, Michael Rukstelis, since April 2010. During this time she enjoyed being with her niece, Grace Rukstelis, and loved to ride with her to fetch tasty treats. She will be sorely missed by Emily and Sarah O'Regan, nieces and daughters of Michael and Martha O'Regan of Beaufort, SC, who will remember 'AP' for her loving advice and generous heart. Surviving also is brother, Ralph J. O'Regan Jr. of East Quogue, NY.
Generous thanks to Dr. Geoffrey Chapman, Donna and staff, Dr. Scott McGinnis, Rachel and staff, the Presbyterian Hospice Home team, and the Harris Hospice clinical staff - all caring professionals and eventual friends. Please join us in a celebration of Patty's life on November 5th at the Rock Hill Oratory Church at 9:30 a.m., at 434 Charlotte Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

I am truly sorry to learn of Pat's passing. I had the privilege of being Pat's roommate for a short time in Brooklyn, NY. She showed me the beauty of a New York bagel and English Breakfast tea while reading the Sunday New York Times. We shared a lot of laughs, and tears, and Pat was a very wise soul. I wish peace to her now. I know she was surrounded by love and care of her family and friends in the southern life she made for herself.
I'll always remember our days at Cache, company lunches and rides home in the car service instead of the subway.
Thank you, Pat, for showing me the town, giving me a place to live in a time of need, and helping me see that there can be light at the end of the tunnel.
Blessings to her family and friends.

It was always great fun to spend time with Pat. Her humor was fantastic and always loved a good, fresh meal. As she would say, "Delish!!" Pat touched many lives and will be sorely missed, but with great memories.
