It's been a long time since I've seen my cousin, Danny, but trust that Susan and I have the entire family in our prayers. We are both educators and as we read all of these wonderful entries we see what a powerful and positive influence Paula was on her students. It is obvious that she was loved by her students and co-educators and will be sorely missed. We are thinking of all of you in your loss.

I too was in the NC State marching band with Paula. She gave me my nickname, 'Tweety'. I never did seem to shake that nickname even today. She was a great friend who always brought a smile to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. My deepest sympathies to Paula's family and loved ones.

To the McDonald family:
I am tremendously sorry for your loss. I am a teacher at Central Cabarrus High and taught down the hall from Paula. I only knew her a short time, but I feel privileged for the brief moments we shared. Paula possessed a personality that could light up a room and a smile that could brighten any dark day. She was loved by students and faculty and will be irreplaceable. Knowing she's with God watching over us brings me comfort and hope for a new day. It is her undying spirit that will carry you through this difficult time. God Bless.

I never really knew Mrs. Mcdonald but every time we saw each other in the hall or in the bathroom, we always shared a few kind words. Even when i was about to get in trouble, she would always give me that "look." She will *always be remembered and *always in our hearts. And always remember.. there's no such thing as "good-bye" but "see you later" To the Mcdonald family, you'll always be in my prayers.

To the Mcdonald Family,
I am terribly sorry for your loss. Ms. Mcdonald was a wonderful person. She was a loving and caring person. She was the best math teacher I have ever had. She taught me the language of math, which no other teacher has been able to do. She helped me bring up my math grade. She would help anyone in any shape or form if she could. She was a wonderful person. I miss her greatly. She was very seldom in a bad mood. She would joke around with the class all the time.We would always end up getting into a conversation and we would have to get back on track. I could walk into her classroom and get a joyful feeling, and there were joyful sounds. Now , I walk in and it is silent and the air seems to be so much thicker. I miss her so much. Her classroom isn't the same without her. It will always be Ms. Mcdonalds classroom . They still have her personal belongings everywhere in the room, and it kills me just to think that she's not going to get to pack her things up at the end of the year.I really wanted to let the family know what she did for me and what she meant to me. Ms. Mcdonald will always be in my heart and the family is in my prayers.
Sincerly,
Tasha

To the McDonald Family: We are the "Host Family" of a foreign exchange student from Japan, who is studying @ CCHS for her Sophmore year. Her name is Keiko. Ms. McDonald took Keiko under her wing and was so kind to her. The impact Ms. McDonald had on Keiko's life in the short time Keiko knew her is huge. The way your daughter touched Keiko's life has left such an impression of "pure humility". The joy she brought to her and ALL her students will be everlasting, as we know they will never forget your beautiful daughter.
May the love of your family & friends help guide you through your difficult time. May God's love comfort you and grant you peace.

The last memory i have of Ms. McDonald, is when i was going to lunch and some of my friends gave me an invitation to a party. Ms. McDonald gave me the look she always did for me the two years i knew her, and asked if it was for a date, i of course looked surprised as i always did and we laughed together, that happened monday afternoon. I didn't see her again, i never said good-bye, good-bye Ms. McDonald, i will never forget you if i wanted to.

To whom it may concern,
I was a nice student in Ms. McDonalds class, though i wasnt perfect she still loved us all. I didnt know her as well as others but from what i did know she was the nicest teacher there was. No matter how annoying all the kids were she still kept cool. And did her best to try to teach us what would fit in our time frame, yet at the same time make it fun. Most teachers boring. The day i heard my eyes had tears burning my face. The love for her was so strong. Also i am a challenged student so at times she tutored me extra, maybe at lunch. Work i didnt turn in was still graded to at least a fifty. She would never want one of us to fail, but would want us to pass her EOC. Problems are hard for me to cope with because ive had lots. Im in a grouphome because of horrible problems happening to me. But i know the day she died she had fun. I only say ,"angels dont die", so then i ask: ,"If angels dont die why is Ms. McDonald dead?", thats what she was to me. Put here to help others through hard times. She loved her job and everyone she knew. If only some of the things she did with us we could share. But time is flying and im actually having heartbreak problems so i will go. Just remember she is dead physically but mentally and through love she is always here. Keep her in your heart and soul and remember the Nice Times you had together.
Sincerely,
Andrew Ice

to the family and friends of Ms. Paula McDonald:
Ms.McDonald was an extroadinary person... she was everything anyone could ever ask for. She was a great friend, a good coach and my favorite teacher. She had a way of explaining things so people could understand.Myself as well as many others looked up to her! she was a great person overall. Its so hard for me as one of her students to come into her classroom and she not be there...knowing that she will never be there again. i just cant imagine how u must be feeling, i have my other friends praying for herand her family...even those who dont know her. Although its such a tragedy we should remember the good stuff, like her smile, the day before her death, she was smiling and laughing as if nothing in the whole world could ever be wrong. She had this "glow" around her, this shine that said "i love life , and everyone that it involves".She was so happy and i know she still is sitting up there in heaven looking down at us from above...I send all my thoughts, love and prayer to the family and friends, as Ms.McDonald shines down on us from above.

I am a student at central cabarrus high school and my name is Kevin Smith. Miss McDonald was perhaps the greatest math teacher in the world! Mine and some of my other classmates lives were changed do to the death of our teacher. She always had a smile on her face and a possitive tought in her mind. She taught us many more things than just math, such as words of wisdom and guidence in life. I will always remember Miss McDonald as a kind, loving and an all around great person. I love you and i will miss you.

A beautiful person, always made me smile, an inspirational person, just fun to be around, your smile was like a flower, your walk a graceful walk, I keep telling myself, your weren't taken, God has his plan, and you just simply finished your plan, ther's no way you'll be forgotten, you live on, in our hearts, our thoughts, our dreams and visions, you're in a better place now, I know you're in heaven, i bet you have wings, I wish you were here, I'll try not to shed anymore tears, I thought you were an angle while you were here, now i know you are an angle, my angle and everyone elese here, I'm glad I knew you for the time I did, I'll thank God for his blessings, and the good life you lived, I won't say goodbye, That seems forever, But i'll tell you I love you, and I can't wait till we'll be together, ONCE THE ANGLE WITHOUT YOUR WINGS, NOW YOU'RE THE ANGLE WHO GREW HER WINGS!!!

Being in 1st period yesterday really made a lot of us see how special you were. Seeing all the big boys who you once joked around with and *locked in the closet* crying. I feel there is nothing I can do anymore. You have helped me so much this year, and now its never going to be the same. Looking at your desk that morning, not seeing you there, it broke my heart so much. All your writing is still on the board from your ANNOYING 4th period, you always use to joke about that. There was so many jokes in the class, so many good times, and a lot of laughs. Those will never be forgotten. I don't only feel like I lost a teacher, but I also lost a friend and someone who was always there to help me, even if it was only math. You will be remembered forever Ms. McDonald and you will always be in my heart.
To the McDonald family..She was greatly loved, and you are also! We'll pray for you.

I am a student from Central Cabarrus High School. My life has been changed due to passing of Ms. McDonald on November 5th, 2002. Ms. McDonald was a great person. She was easy to get along with and easily the best math teacher I've had in my entire grade school career. She was loveable and had nothing short of a positive attitude. Ms. McDonald will always be remembered at Central Cabarrus High School, have a place in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. Her family shall also be in our thoughts and prayers.
