Peter Barnett Obituary

Peter Stuart Barnett MOORESVILLE - Peter Stuart Barnett, 71, of Mooresville, NC, formerly of Colts Neck, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at his home. He was born on October 13, 1943 in Orange, NJ, to the late Lynn Francis Barnett and Kathryn Hillyer Barnett. Mr. Barnett received his Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and was the President and founder of MMB Bearings Corp. (est. 1976) Mooresville, NC. A pillar in the bearing industry, Peter was a leader, visionary and mentor to so many. He leaves behind devoted employees who proudly followed him from New Jersey, when the company, MMB, relocated to Lake Norman. He was intelligent, honorable, and incredibly funny; Peter was loved and respected by his family, friends, and company family. He will be greatly missed by so many and has touched enumerable lives. He was a devoted husband of 39 years and loving father of four. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Castellucci Barnett; children, Shawn Barnett Sabatino (Vincent), Charles Eric Crisson (Deirdre Warde), Nicole Omera Barnett (Jamal Simmons), Peter Francis Barnett; sisters, Mary Tennaro (Clement), Betsy Small (Timothy); brother, Robert Barnett (Virginia); grandchildren, Carter, Charles, Blake, John and Harlow; and his MMB Bearings family of employees. A celebration of Peter's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 5, at the Barnett's home, 129 Lawrence Tee Lane, Mooresville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Iredell County, 110 Robinson Rd., Mooresville, NC 28117 and/or Iredell County EMS, PO Box 788, Statesville, NC 28687 and/or World Wildlife Fund, www.worldwildlifefund.org or WWF, PO Box 97180, Washington, DC 20090.
