Dear Betsy,

Dick was one of the smartest people I ever met; that's what I'll remember about him--his wide-ranging intelligence and his love for perennials. He was definitely unique. And I know lots of folks will miss him dearly.

Helen,
Xanie told me today of Richard's passing, and I am so very sorry for you. He was a sweet, wonderful spirit, and I know you will miss your dear friend. Richard cat-sat for me a number of times. You were a wonderful friend to him and I hope that brings you comfort.

My heart holds hands with yours,
Amy Sullivan

You are in our thoughts and prayers. My mom has told me some funny stories about Dick, and how he used to prank you two. We are thinking of you.

Betsy and Helen,

Chip and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Richard's passing. We were so fond of him and depended on him for his knowledge of plants for our yard. As I look in my yard and see what he told us to plant I will always remember him with great affection. We are so sorry for your loss of a brother and friend.

Sincerely,
Rivers and Chip Moon
