Richard Platt Obituary
Richard was a graduate of Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory and the owner of G & G Landscape and Irrigation in Charlotte, where he later sold the business and officially retired in 2019 to the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Keith Harrington Platt and Marilyn Garrett Platt, sister Tia Platt Mooneyhan and niece Michelle Taylor Platt. His memory will live on through his wife and high-school sweetheart, Michele Dodgin Platt, daughter Bethany Platt Hall and son, Richard Nicholas Hampton Platt, brother-in-law, Christopher Mooneyhan and older brother, Gregory Platt.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Richard on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, NC from 1 - 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Humane Society or St. Jude’s in Richard's honor.

He became my brother in all the ways that counted. We joked liked brothers, we laughed like brothers we shared ups and downs and sometimes we even argued like brothers. Love you brother Rich.
