I have known Bob in some capacity since the mid 1990´s when he was a volunteer at Metro school. He was our Santa every year, bringing joy to special needs kids. When my own special needs daughter graduated from high school, she needed something besides her job to keep her busy and to make friends. She attended Camp Soar, which Bob founded and it changed her life. It introduced her to many sports and she picked Tennis. She has been playing for 15 years and has made many friends because of this foundation he founded. He was the most dedicated and loving person I have ever met. Thank you, Bob. You are terribly missed, but the love you showed to your athletes will carry on forever.

We've had the pleasure of knowing Bob for decades and catching his joy in the food business. And, also seeing first hand how he made a life changing positive difference to kids as seen with our former neighbor and good buddy Greyson who LOVED Mr Bob. Sending our love to you, Bob, with thanks for bringing joy to us. Last memory of you was a few months ago across the pack line packing food for seniors at The Food Bank and you dancing to the packing music. Love to your sweetie Marilyn and your kids.

I met Bob many years ago as we both served on the Special Olympics Board. Bob gave his time, talents, hard work, and love to Special Olympics. He raised thousands of dollars and gave hours and hours of coaching to Special Olympics.
His love and dedication was immeasurable. Not only did he serve but he recruited many volunteers and sponsors to become a part of the games.
It is hard to imagine just how many lives he touched.
I know that I am a better person because of Bob.
I will be lifting his family up in prayer. May all our wonderful memories of Bob bring you comfort during this difficult time.

Lynne and I are so sorry and saddened to hear of Bob´s passing. We´ve known Bob and his family for over 30 years. I worked with Bob in the Food Brokerage business for many years, assisted him with Special Olympics events, & Charlotte Hornets Holiday Food Drives when George Shinn first brought the NBA Team to Charlotte. He was one of the nicest persons I´ve ever met in my life, always in great spirits, helping others, such a great man. May God bless his wife, Marilyn, daughter, Laura, &, the entire Bowler family in this time of sorrow.

Bob was a true Christian! He did everything he could to help those in need! He was a leader for the Intellectual / Development Disability Community.
He was a friend to everyone he met!
My condolences to his family.
He is in heaven, now with his daughter Vicki, who was just like her parents.
Rest in peace Bob. You will be missed!!!

Bob is a special person. He was my daughter's first basketball coach in Special Olympics and encouraged her all the way. That was 20 years ago and, like so many other people, she always looked for Bob at practices and competitions regardless of the sport. A great human!
