Marilu,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Ron's passing. I took his photography class at William Holland last summer and it has truly changed my outlook on photography for the web. I use the skills I learned from Ron almost daily and I am privileged to have been in his class. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Marylu, you and Ron have been a big part of Frank's life, and Beryl is so very happy to have had the opportunity to visit with both of you. We look at the quartz slice that Ron pointed out to us at the last Tucson mineral and gem show that we walked around with him. It was right after he had published his marvelous book Jaspers and Agates. Ron was truly a master at everything he did. We will miss him terribly and our heart goes out to you.

Marylu,
I was so saddened to hear of Ron's passing. He was a brilliant gentleman and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I took his photography class at William Holland and he nicknamed me "Dusty" because of the dust on the plexiglass we were using to photograph jewelry. I last saw both of you a couple of years ago at Wild Acres. Let the memories you made together help sustain you as you go through this difficult time. God Bless You.

P. S. I taught at William Holland and Wild Acres at the same time he did.

Marylu, Ron's passing took me by surprise. He was quite the character. I worked with Ron at Dow (Central Research, 1989-1994). Ron was an inspiration to all that came in contact with him. I can still see his smile and be uplifted by his upbeat, positive attitude. God Bless You at this difficult time.

Dear Marylu, I just learned of your husband Ron's death via our ASC Facebook group. I am so VERY sorry and I want you to know that you and your family will be in my prayers as you traverse this difficult and painful time. Our years together at Agnes Scott seem so far away - but I remember them as yesterday. I hope we can use this time of sorrow as a time also to re-connect with each other. Much love and many blessings to you all, Betsy Jennings Powell

Among the many people I have known in my life, Ron was one of the nicest and most intelligent. Whether it was showing up with a box full of beads on my doorstep or talking to me about photography, Ron was always friendly and willing to teach me about many diverse subjects. He was always very enthusiastic about gems and minerals and radiated this same feeling to others around him. Ron will be missed by me and the Charlotte Rock and Gem club, to which he contributed so much.

Marilu,
Brenda and I are so saddened by the news of Ron's passing. He was very special as a boss, a mentor and a friend. We'll never forget how he "rescued" our Plecostomus! We hope your pain is somewhat relieved by all the wonderful memories of a very nice man.

I have studied rocks, gems and minerals since I was about ten years old and I have never met anyone who knew more about this wonderful earth science than Ron. Most importantly, he shared his vast knowledge openly. Ron was a gift to the Charlotte Gem and Mineral club working tirelessly as our newsletter editor and we are a better club because of his passion for what we do.

The obituary does not talk about his smile! Ron was a "glass is more than half full" kind of guy. Everyone will miss him.

Marilu, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I was on Ron's computer support team in Central Research in the late 80's and early 90's. He was a remarkable and kind-hearted soul.

Marylu,
Over the past 20 years or more, both at Dow and in retirement, I have come to Ron for help. He never failed to give it or make you feel that you were imposing. I grieve with you for for your loss.

Dear Marylu and Family,

We're very surprised and saddened to hear of Ron's passing. He was certainly a very interesting person who was passionate about so many things, including precious stones and the Apple Computer.

My husband, David, had great admiration and respect for Ron whom I believe served on the board of the Midland Apple Computer Club. I also had some interaction with him regarding the computer and he was always so willing to help and share his knowledge with us.

We will remember him kindly and pray that you will find solace in knowing that he is out of suffering and at peace with God now.

Our prayers are with you at this very sad time. God bless you.
