Matthews, North Carolina - Roy F. Garrett, age 79, of Matthews, NC passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Waxhaw, NC. He was born April 15, 1943 in Callands, VA to parent's William H. Garrett and Mae Pearl Flippen Garrett; both preceded him in death. Roy served his Country in the United States Army from 1964-1968. He lived in numerous places like Eden, NC, Monroe, NC and Cape Coral, FL and he was of the Baptist faith. Roy was an entrepreneur who owned multiple businesses in his lifetime including an insurance agency, day care center and convenience store. Roy loved golf and took pride and enjoyment of having the perfect yard and he will be remembered as an easy going individual. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Doris Garrett, daughter Sabrina G. Moore, husband Jeffery Moore, sister Ann Scott Baker and sister-in-law Ruth R. Garrett. In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by brother William "Red" Garrett, brother Wayne Garrett and sister Doris Garrett Jones.
