Sadie Mangum Obituary

Sadie L. Mangum
MONROE -- Mrs. Mangum, age 83, of Monroe, died Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 2, 2005, at Altan Presbyterian Church, officiated by Reverend Dr. W. M. 'Bill' Wiley and Reverend Steve Jacks. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Mangum was born on April 9, 1922, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Will Frank McManus and Gennie Mattox McManus. She was a retired seamstress.
Survivors include her husband, John C. Mangum of the home, to which she was married for 59 years to the day; two sons, Johnny F. Mangum and wife Patsy of Monroe, Ray G. Mangum and special friend, Margaret Secrest, of Monroe; three grandchildren, Michael Ray Mangum, Meredith Mangum Player, Shaun Franklin Mangum; two great-grandchildren, Kaleb Mangum and Hannah Mangum.
The family will receive friends Thursday night, September 1, 2005, from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Davis Funeral Home in Monroe, 1003 East Franklin Street.
Memorials may be made to Altan Presbyterian Church; 108 Sandy Ridge Road West; Monroe, NC 28112.
The family has grateful appreciation to the doctors and nurses of Union Family Practice, Home Instead Senior Care, Union Regional Medical Center, and Dr. Marty Kreshon.
Davis Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monroe is serving the family of Mrs. Mangum.
