Shirley Gulledge Obituary

Shirley G. Gulledge
CHESTERFIELD -- Mr. Gulledge, 76, died Friday, September 26, 2003. The funeral will be 4 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2003 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial in David's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gulledge was born in Mt. Croghan, SC, a son of the late Roland Jerome 'Jake' and Mary Elizabeth Tucker Gulledge. He was a retired supervisor with Bo Buck Mills, with 40 years of service, and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Mr. Gulledge was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion Post #74. Mr. Shirley was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was married for 54 years to the late Georgia Mae Threadgill Gulledge.
Survivors include daughter, Kay Gulledge Douglas and son-in-law, Leon Douglas of Chesterfield, SC; grandsons, Graham Douglas and Jonathan Douglas; brother, Rev. Buck Gulledge and wife Kay of Ruby, SC; sister, Wanda G. Sellers of Ruby, SC; nieces, Sherry Johnson and Lisa Griggs; nephews, Mickey Oliver, Ricky Gulledge and Chip Gulledge and 'special friends,' Henry and Juanita Gulledge and Mary Lou Burr.
