Steven Michael Aupied MOUNT HOLLY - Steven Michael Aupied, 58, peacefully went home to be with Jesus, his Savior and Lord, early in the morning on November 26, 2016. The Lord graciously took his pain away and was welcomed in heaven by his Dad, Robert Aupied. His home was in Mt. Holly, NC. Steven was a New Orleans native who moved to North Carolina in 2010 where he met his hunny Cathy Layton. He was a very talented photographer and scratch golfer. His brilliant smile and sense of humor will be etched in our hearts forever. His passion was for his family. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Layton-Aupied; three daughters, Sarah Matthews and her husband, Paul Matthews, Samantha Aupied, and Martine Guerra and her husband, Cristian Guerra; his four grandchildren, Blaze, Preston, Dylan, and Aurora; his mother, Patricia Aupied and his sister and brother-in-law Suzanne Simonette and Nick Simonette of Cornelius. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at 6 pm at Epic Church,100 Indian Walk, Lowell, NC 28098.

So very sorry I am not able to be there today to celebrate his wonderful life. He was certainly a light in mine. We ended up the best of friends and helped each other through some strange times yet both came out smiling. I will miss you my dear friend. Until we meet again......
