Timothy Clarence Braswell
'T.C.'
TROY -- Mr. Braswell, 88, of 1030 Dairy Road, died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Funeral service is 2:00 PM Saturday, October 28, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Troy, with Rev. Clay Davis and Rev. Grady Blakely officiating. Interment in Southside Cemetery, Troy, with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, October 27, at the Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, and other times at the home.
Mr. Braswell was a native of Union County. A retired Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy, World War II, he was servig on the USS Yorktown when it sank during the Battle of Midway Island. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a retired Civil Service employee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Ada Nance Braswell; four brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Bailey Braswell of the home; stepsons, Boyce M. Elliott, Jr. of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Herman Keith Elliott, and James Allen Elliott of Rock Hill, SC; brother, Flake Braswell of Monroe, NC; sisters, Audrey Biggers of Matthews, NC and Betty Kaba of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital, PO Box 667, Mauldin, SC 29662.
