William Hall Obituary
March 22, 1952 - May 22, 2024
Charlotte, North Carolina - William Edward (Bill) Hall Jr., 72, of Charlotte, passed away May 22,2024. Born March 22, 1952, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William Edward Hall Sr. and Barbara Louise Chapman Hall. Bill is survived by his longtime companion Candy Lee, and her daughter Katie (Ryan) Bleau, all of Charlotte. He is also survived by a brother, Jeff (Lisa) Hall of SC and a sister Patty (Tom) Foster of OH. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
After receiving a Mechanical Engineering degree at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, OH, he worked at L.W. Nash Co. in East Palestine, OH which then relocated to Charlotte. Bill moved with the company and made his home here in Charlotte. Bill also worked for Day Zimmerman and Parsons engineering firms.
Bill was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church and also a member of the Patchwork Sunday School class there. Bill loved the Church and dedicated a lot of his time there, volunteering at the Second Harvest Food Bank and a Room at the Inn ministries through the Church.
Bill was a HAM Radio operator for many years, enjoyed restoring antique cars and gardening at his home. He worked for the Board of Elections and was a Handyman for many friends and neighbors. Bill was gentle in spirit and was always lending a hand to someone else. Bill was loved and will truly be missed by Family and Friends.
Memorial Services will be held at the Providence UMC on June 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM located at 2810 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211. The Service will also be Livestreamed beginning 10 minutes before the start of the Service. You may view by going to the Providence UMC website at https://www.providenceumc.org and click on the Worship menu and select Memorial Service.

Bill was such a kind and thoughtful person. He always cared about his family members even though they were in Ohio. He was very involved with his mom's life when she was still in her home, balancing his work here and visits to Ohio. Our best conversations happened in the parking lot of the church, usually when we were leaving an event and had time to talk. He always had an engineer's take on various circumstances or responsibilities - methodical and measured, but always rational and empathetic. We can learn so much from Bill. He is missed here but is hopefully exploring his new life with great expectation. See you soon enough, Bill.
