William Pettigrew Obituary

William Thomas Pettigrew, Sr. "Tommy" SUPPLY - William Thomas "Tommy" Pettigrew, Sr., 37, of Supply, died peacefully, Thursday, October 24, 2013, at his home, following a lengthy illness. Tommy was born on October 2, 1976 in Mecklenburg Co., the son of John D. Pettigrew, Jr. and Donna Price Pettigrew. Tommy was a former paid firefighter with Shallotte Point Fire Dept. and volunteer with Tri-Beach VFD for many years. He had also been a laboratory technician with Brunswick Community Hospital and NHRMC. He obtained his pilot's licenses at the age of 19, and he enjoyed racing cars. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, William Thomas Pettigrew, Jr., of Charlotte; sister, Brandy Farmer, husband, Tim, of Rock Hill, SC, paternal grandmother, June Pettigrew, of Charlotte; and two nephews, Joey & Jake Farmer. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2 pm on Sunday, October 27th in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel. Inurnment will be at 2 pm on Tuesday, October 29th in Evergreen Cemetery,Charlotte. Honorary Casketbearers will be Tri-Beach VFD. Family requests in lieu of flowers memorials be directed to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
