I met Alan and Reid in Santa Fe New Mexico in 1991. I recall how Alan was very generous to those in Need. He made a point of visiting various people he knew there and made sure he purchased art work or products from those in need of financial support.
I do hope that he did not suffer too much during his illness. I have very fond memories of Alan and may god bless him. My condolences to Alan's family

To Alan's family I extend my condolences.
Alan was my older brother's best friend. It was he who found my brother's car the night of his fatal accident in 1963.
Although it has been many years since I last saw Alan, my memories of him are all good. He was a kind and gentle man. To his survivors I can only wish that their memories of him always be with them as mine are with me.

Alan was a most precious friend. He had a compassion to help people who had few options left to have a better quality of life. I had the privilege to travel with Alan and his wonderful grandson, David, on an impressive trip to Israel in the summer of 2009. I admired how Alan would meticulously plan and visit directly with those in need to evaluate how best to help them. He had a great sense of prioritizing what needed to be done, and how to do it efficiently. His many dedicated friends would assist us along the way, providing Alan with helpful information. He left the world a better place to live in because of what he did. I respect him greatly for that. God bless Alan and his loving family. He is truly loved and missed.

Giora, Anita and the Family of INTRA,
are deeply sorry to learn that Alan has passed away, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time.
Over the past ten years Alan generously donated several magnificent therapy horses to the Israel National Therapeutic Riding Association, INTRA. These most thoughtful acts of kindness have made it possible for many challenged and disabled children and adults receive significant benefits from our program while having a fun safe ride. In his memory and as a tribute to Alan's life, INTRA will continue providing and facilitating a therapeutic riding program with the wonderful horses, which he considerately bestowed upon us.

Dear Dworkin family,
We share in your great loss. Though we have known Alan for just a few years he has made a tremendous impact on the lives of all of us at Ginat Eden Rehabilitation Farm for teenage girls-at-risk. His generousity and real concern for the welfare of the teens was heartwarming.
The entire Ginat Eden family sends its condolences to you. We will remember Alan forever.
May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Alan was and will always remain one of the most gracious and generous people I have ever known. He gave life to our organization throughout the years, because he truly loved people and animals and he felt the vital link between human and animal welfare. His incredible generosity and faith in us preserved our mission and our hope and dedication to human and animal welfare. I had the pleasure and privilege to meet Annette, Debra and David. My wife, Pam, and I and our children, Adam and Alyssa want all of you in Alan's family to know that you will always be welcome and cherished in our home and in our world. Alan's last contribution to us was a wonderful little Boston Terrier by the name of Elsa. She came to us as a puppy in 2008 and today is a wonderful and leading animal companion and assistant in all of our Animal Assisted Therapy programs. Alan was a great and true friend and supporter of HAMA. He will always be a part of our lives.
