Allen E. Kampman, age 89, of Naperville, formerly of Elmhurst, peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at Edward Hospital. Born March 30, 1920 in Chicago to the loving parents, the late John and Effel Kampman; dearest husband of the late Lydia A.; beloved father of Ellen Shelhamer of Wheaton,

Kathleen Busleta of Bartlett, Susanne (John) Van Dyke of Hinsdale and Dave Kampman of Naperville; cherished grandfather of Kristen (Cullen) O'Mara, Matthew Shelhamer, Daniel Shelhamer, Eric

(Annette) Busleta, Ryan (fiancee, May

Sotto) Busleta, Jason (Tiffany) Van Dyke and Heidi Van Dyke; great-grandfather of Angelina, Kaylee and Kaitlyn. Allen was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked more than 30 years for the Electromotive Division of GM. Allen was an avid woodworker. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, DuPage Area Office, 1801 S. Meyers Rd., Suite 100, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Memorial visitation Sunday, April 26, 2 to 4 p.m. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL 60540.
