I walked in last night to Shoes to learn of Tony's passing. How terribly sad. With whom am I to sit and chat about all things? I will miss the warm hugs and the, "How are you honey?"
I met Tony at St. Teresa of Avila Parish. Tony cut my hair and I can remember him running his hands through my wife's black hair saying, "You Asians have the best hair," while simply playing with it as if it was something special. Tony made us all feel very special.
I enjoyed coming home after a week out of town and passing by his shop on Armitage and seeing him on the porch or cutting hair - It meant all was well in the neighborhood.
Dr. John - May God Bless You.
Tony - Hold a space for open for me!

You will be greatly missed. Your humor and attitude will be missed. You always put a smile on someone's face and had something to say to make them laugh. You told the truth about people no matter what. You will be missed.

Tony was George's cousin and we will always remember him fondly. Our children loved his playfulness, his love of life.
He was a gentle caring man, full of love and joy for everyone in his life.
Some of our best memories of Tony are when our kids were little and we'd spend time with him and John going to the zoo in Lincoln Park, eating pizza, getting haircuts and listening to stories of his adventures in CA trimming the hair of rock stars.
When our middle child Nathaniel heard of his cousins passing, he said to a friend, my cousin lived in a very stylin' condo! Amy our oldest, remembers him the most and will miss his presence in her life.
The last time we visited with Tony was in May of 2007, when George, I and our two youngest kids, David and BJ were in Chicago. He told us he was sick, but he was very optimistic about being able to live a long life. Tony said that he and John were going to move down to Florida.
Now he is smiling and showering his love around us. He will be missed...
Dr John, we send you our love from Montana.
Namaste,
Holly Lee

Thank you Tony. You were such a great friend to my sister Missy for so long, and mostly in her last days. As much as we will all miss you , I know she is happy to have you. I will never forget you and John dressed as Sonny and Cher for Halloween a few years ago. Thanks for spending time with us. You and my sister take care of each other now.

Tony was one of the first people I met when I moved to Chicago and what an impression he made! What an incredible sense of humor and vibrant laugh. I'll never forget the margaritas in the beer gardens, the highlights and cuts, the Halloween costumes, and most of all, the laughs. No party was complete until Tony walked in. He was a true gem! I'll miss him terribly as my heart goes out to John.

there is so much i can say about tony, after mom passed away about 2 months ago tony was there for me and my sister and dad through it all! He came and visit us at home jsus too see us for like 5 mins and check if we were ok... even if he wasnt feeling good. Tony and my mom were the best friends. He looked out for her and i love him for that! i remember the first time i really met him, it was wen i got my hair done for the first time.
He alwasy had a way to make me smile... and i loved how he had the best sense of humor! I am going to miss him so much.
The only thign that makes me happy on something so sad happening.... is that he is there with my mom! they are going to take good care of eachother and watch over us. They might drive eachother crazy but thats only cause they love eachother.
RIP TONY! I MISS YOU ALWAYS!

My memories of Anthony go back to when he was young. Then he and his sister Sandra and I hung out together regularly. I remember how often all three of us went cruising in my car. We had so much fun. I was there when his mother and father passed away and he was there for me when my husband passed away. My condolences are for Dr. John.
