I'm so saddened to learn of Barbara's passing. We were Skokie neighbors with many fond memories. Everyone wanted to hang with Barbara. My last memory is Bootsie rubbing against Barbara, beer in hand, while Bubbie chased the rest of us around. May the family find comfort in loving memories, Jori Bonner

I wish I had known Barbara better. We attended neither grade school nor junior high together, so we never really communicated until the year or two leading into the Niles East 50th Reunion. Since I had served as chairman of our 20th, 30th, and 40th reunions, Barbara and I conversed for many hours, so I could give her whatever advice she needed. We also spoke at length about her cancer and my late wife, Eve's. I was recently diagnosed with lung cancer ( which is being treated successfully with targeted therapy pills), and we spoke often about that. When asked, "how are you doing"? Barbara would invariably answer, "Fine...tell me about you." In spite of all of her challenges, she still managed to go to work, to love her family, to run the reunion, to gather a support group, and to be a cheerful, concerned friend. I wish...I truly wish... that I had known Barbara better.

I am sorry for your loss. Please take comfort in Psalms 29:11, knowing that in difficult times like this, God gives peace and strength. DM.

Growing up in Skokie in the 60s, some of us hung out at the bowling alley (yeah it was a thing then). My group included Weiner, Foreman, Geman, Simon, Babe and Rosie.
Can't recall why the girls only had last names but Barbara was always just Weiner to us. First woman with a GTO and she sure knew how to drive it. I'll miss you, Rest In Peace. Ken Posner
