Barbara Fowler Obituary

Barbara Cooper Fowler died surrounded by family on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2022 at her home in Evanston, Illinois. She was 88 years old. Barbara was the loving wife of nearly 65 years to Gary Lane Fowler; devoted mother to Ellen (Jeff) Hummel and Mark (Rebecca) Fowler; and beloved grandmother of Michael Fowler, Sara Hummel, Evan Hummel and Daniel Fowler. She is also survived by her sister Sandra (Charles) Young, of Lexington, Kentucky; six nieces and nephews, and their families. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, John Remington Cooper, Sr; her mother, Esther Carl Cooper; and her brother John "Jack" (late Millicent) Remington Cooper, Jr. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 30, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence (www.ichv.org), the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org), and the League of Women Voters (www.lwv.org).
