Bernard L. Abrams, MD, age 87, beloved husband of 61 years to Carol; loving father of Daniel (Jamie) Abrams, Richard (Elizabeth) Abrams, Kathryn (John) Quigley, Ellen Abrams and Joan Abrams; cherished grandfather of Benjamin, Joshua, Robert, Paul, Isabel, Joseph and Gabrielle; dear brother of the late Dora Abrams, Beatrice (the late Abraham) Kushner and Herman (the late Sonya) Abrams; devoted son of the late Harry and Fanny Abrams; also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Dr. Abrams was a proud Veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army Air Corps. Service Friday, March 16, 2012, 11 a.m. at Am Shalom, 840 Vernon Ave., Glencoe. Dear Carol and family, I am so sad to learn of Bernie's passing..you know he saved my life in 1982. Dear Joan, I am so sorry for your loss of your father. He is not suffering any more. I will try to come tomorrow evening. I have called Art and Myra and will try to get ahold of Mary Ellen. I met Bernie in 1948 when we were in pre-med and shared adjacent rooms. Through the years are paths crossed many times. A fine gentlman--a real mensch. The planet could use a lot more people like you. My heartfelt condolences to the Abrams family.
