Bernard Cullen Obituary

Rev. Bernard Cullen, 90, of New Melleray Abbey, Peosta, Iowa. Beloved son of Bernard and Catherine (O'Connor), dear brother of John Bernard (Ruth Cleary), Catherine, James Edward (Edith Floyd), Raymond (Marion Leahy), Hugh, George and Cecilia, all of whom preceded him in death; survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and the Trappist community of New Melleray. Born and raised in Chicago (St. Gertrude's school, Quiqley Preparatory Seminary) he joined the monks in 1942 at age 18. Mass and burial 10:30 am Saturday, New Melleray Abbey, Peosta, IA.

The Cullens were always dear friends of our Cradick family. We are so grateful that we got to know Father Bernard as he was a young priest when Ray came to our house. God has added another gentle soul to his heavenly family.
