Bette McConnaughey Obituary

Bette Anne McConnaughey, age 85, a 30 year resident of the Phoenix area, died November 12, 2003 at Amethyst Arbor, Peoria, AZ. She was born April 30th 1918 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of John Stewart and Mary Jane Allen. She grew up in Evanston Illinois and later married Walter G. Kelly. Together they had five children. Bette later divorced and married Joseph McConnaughey and they moved to Phoenix in 1973. She was preceded in death by her husband husband Joseph McConnaughey; and her son John J. Kelly and her great-granddaughter Maddison Lloyd. Bette, a loving mother and sister, is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Finkel; and her children, Walter G. Kelly Jr., Bette Ann Versloot, Margaret Mary Rau and Terry Kelly; her grandchildren, Kevin, Melissa and Laura Kelly, Tracy Lloyd and Sandra Elquist, Melinda and Colleen Rau, Keenan Kelly and Christi and Michael Kelly; and her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Braden, Kyle and Gracie Lloyd. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 Palmeras Lane, Sun City, AZ. Interment will follow at Phoenix Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity for children or the American Heart Association. Arrangements by Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Terrace. .
