Betty Kowalczyk Obituary
Betty Jean Kowalczyk, age 50, at rest Dec. 30, 2006. Residing at Cresthaven 2 for 13 years in La Crosse, WI. Formerly of Downers Grove, IL. Beloved daughter of Jean, nee Halles, and the late Tadeusz Kowalczyk (Nov. 12, 2006); loving sister of David (Sandra Morse) Kowalczyk; and cherished aunt of Sierra Morse. She will be deeply missed by many family members, friends and the staff and clients of Cresthaven 2. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cresthaven Group Homes, P.O. Box 1657, La Crosse, WI, 54601, would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main St., Downers Grove, IL, 630-968-0408. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at 9:30 a.m., from Toon Funeral Home to St. Mary Gostyn Catholic Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL. I worked for Chrishaven as a direct care worker and later a program supports coordinator for several years. Most of that time I was in the same house as Betts. She was an amazing individual and so very funny. She also holds the record for the most pens and buttons ever amassed by one person! Please know that she was loved very much by everyone close to her. I would like her whole family to know that they were huge positive influence in Betty's life and she spoke fondly of them all the time. It takes special people to raise someone as unique and wonderful as she was. I'm thankful to have had her in my life as long as I did. Goodbye Miss Betty

My deepest sympathy for Betty's family. I have been lucky to have worked with Betty the last few years at ORC Industries. She was a delight to see every day....we even shared the same birthday!
