What can I say - I decided to wait till it was almost your birthday to write. I just couldn't bring myself to write till now. We met in 1939 - just kids - but kindred spirits even then. Through the years we kept in touch even though the miles separated us. Our bodies grew older but we never did, and we grew even closer, and that was largely due to my admiration for your indomitable courage and , of course, your humor and love. We adored the high school reunions and the fun of planning and all those great stories and talks. How I would love to hear the phone ring and hear your voice once again. That sound is so fresh in my mind. The last time I called you, and the last time I heard your voice, I heard your beloved, familiar phrase, "Celine is out and about". I believe that to be true - especially now. Save a place for me Celine. Liz

Dear Celine The Queen,
I miss, I love you and I think of you every day. I have been playing "Mrs. Robinson" over and over again in your honor and it really helps.
You have always had a huge part of my heart. No one will ever fill that for me again.
I picture you in heaven with Grover, Pat & Jack playing bridge and sipping Manhattans and laughing so loud I can pratically hear you.

Dearest Celine..What joyful memories you have left me with.. Remember the home closing we shared on snowy Halloween day where you perked up everyone by coming in costume as a witch?? It was always so disarming to have such a glamorous lady with such a wicked sense of humor..You will be in my thoughts every time that I turn into the Shires..

It is with much sadness that I have learned of Celine's passing. I have wonderful memories of her because of the friendship she had with my parents. She never failed to make an entrance. She was vivacious and dynamic; she had such sparkle. It's her laughter that I remember so well. She will be missed. My deepest sympathy to your family.

The vim and vigor in which your mom led her life is an inspiration to us all. I remember how glamourous I thought she was as an Avon lady way back in the 60's, and she never lost that grace. I am sorry I was unable to bring my mom, Rita, to the wake and funeral. My deepest sympathy to you.

Celine, you left us all too soon! You will be remembered so fondly by everyone lucky enough to have been touched by your glamour, infectious laughter, and incredible sense of humor. I'm aware that each time I have ever talked to you that I tried so hard to be funny so I could hear your raucous laughter. You were such a life force and a true inspiration to me as a young girl and adult. I'm so glad to have known you. Your family and friends will miss you so much. My condolences to all.

Was so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother and grandmother. I was lucky enough to work with Celine at Realstar/National RealEstate. She was one of the best Realtor's I ever worked with. In my talks with her, I know she loved her family, baked potato's and her Anna "Banana". I will never forget her laugh. It was the best. Cherish the memories & remember the laughter. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Celine and Barry - May 2005

Celine "the queen" was a great friend of my father, Barry Hynes these past 10 years. We always enjoyed her company whenever she joined any of our family functions. She was usually the life of the party regaling us with her great Irish wit and gift for storytelling. She was a joy to have around. My father says she was "a great Irish lass!" She will certainly be dearly missed. I know my father will especially miss her. Long live the Queen! God bless her.

I don't think anyone could disagree with the fact that Celine was a very vivacious person. She was always a happy individual. I remember her as a neighbor mom who was always welcoming and also remember the distinct smell of her ever present perfume. She also helped us find a real estate agent when we moved back to the Chicago area 14 years ago. It was no surprise that her success was attributed to her personality. I'm sure she will be missed by many. I send my condolences to her children, Tracy and family, Greg and family, G. J. and family and Aimee.
