April 8th, 1937 – January 14th, 2021. Charles was born on April 8th, 1937. He passed away on January 14th, 2021 in the Tidewell Hospice Wing inside of Venice Memorial Hospital in Venice, FL. "Chic" was born in 1937 to the late Frank and Stella Scardina and was raised in the Chicagoland area. He was an Army Veteran and an avid baseball player and fan. As a young man and during his first marriage, to Micky, he became a father to his daughter Nicole who loved him dearly. She spent the last years of his life caring for him and was with him by his side when he passed away peacefully Thursday, January 14th. His second marriage was to Helen who currently resides in Reno, NV. Together for 42 years, he was stepfather to Debbie(Ken), grandparents to Jeff (Lily), Tabitha (Mark Cox), and Kevin (Maggie), and great grandparents to Jessica, Zoe, Zachary, Savannah, and Megan. Besides baseball, Chic's other passion was golf, he played countless rounds in many states including a once in a lifetime outing at the famed Pebble Beach golf course in California overlooking the Pacific Ocean and hit a hole in one during one of his tournaments. He also thoroughly enjoyed playing blackjack and craps along with betting on horse racing and many other games of chance where the opportunity to hit it big was always a possibility. The family is being assisted by Gulf Coast Cremations. Condolences and sympathy cards can be mailed to them at 114 Shamrock Blvd. Venice, FL 34293.
