David Laemle Blumberg

David Laemle Blumberg, age 94 passed away peacefully at his home in Highland Park, Il on March 27, 2022. David was a man of many accomplishments. His education included a BA and MBA from The University of Chicago and he was a Sargent in an anti-aircraft division of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. In business he ran a successful family furniture company and was a past president of the National Home Furnishings Association. In the community he was a founding member of The Highland Park Community Foundation and served on the board of directors, a past president of Jewish Vocational Service, as well as a volunteer at the North Shore Senior Center. In sports, he was an avid skier and an accomplished golfer. In his personal and family life he enjoyed spending time with his family and dear friends especially over a good meal. David is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Linda Blumberg, nee Horween, loving sons: Anthony (Sue), Paul (Lisa) and Alan (Christine) and wonderful grandchildren: Emily, Teddy, Leah, Daniel, Camden and Justin.
