Dave was my supervisor at The Hartford some years ago. He was one of the better people I worked under. His knowledge of property insurance was impeccable and his bedside manner for claims handling was one-of-a-kind. What I liked most about Dave was that when he knew your abilities, he let you work unhindered on your own, without trying to micro-manage you, because he trusted you and had faith in you. That taught me volumes on how to supervise anyone including raising my own kids. Dave would have been at Wrigley Field, either in person or by television to watch the Cubs in the playoffs. He never lost faith in them either. Somehow I suspect he's watching them now, win or loose.
