Dear Cousin Arlene & Family,
James & I were very sorry to hear that Dave passed away. Since I have been living in Massachusetts for over 21 years now, I have not seen him in quite some time. However, I have fond memories of him. I remember Dave's wonderful smile, his laughter and his zest for life. He was a kind and giving person. We hope that the fond memories that you have of your husband/father/grandfather will help sustain you during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you.
Love,
Diane & James Dawson (Docekal)

We remember the many good times we had growing up in the old neighborhood. We remember David as a very nice fellow, who was always kind, tall, and good looking, and we remember the very pretty girl he married. The Brightonites - the best guys around - gave us lots of good times. Arlene, may your good memories help you through this difficult time. May Dave's spirit live on in your children and grandchildren.
Our deepest sympathy,
Harold (Hoppy) and Barbara Hopkins

We send our deepest sympathy to the Gaidas family. Dave was a dear friend who always had a kind word and a smile when we would see him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. We were blessed to have had the opportunity to share both happy and sad times with Dave and we will never forget him for his kindness to us both.
We hope Arlene, that you and your children will find peace of mind knowing that Dave is now in our Father's House. He is now a Guardian Angel watching over you all. You are all in our prayers.

My deepest sympathies and thoughts to the Gaidas family. I will always remeber Mr Gaidas as a caring man who gave a lot of his time to church, school, family and community. My memories of Brighton Park and Immaculate Conception will always have Mr G as part of them. I will always remember as a young boy how he worked with my family showing compassionand kindness when we lost my grandmother. Dave Jr, you and your family are in my thoughts.

We as life long "Brightonites" can't believe we lost a friend,Dave. Dave was the ultimate friend to everyone. It was always a hello or even a honk of his car horn or a wave of his hand when he saw you. It's been a few years since he has moved away but his presence was always missed. Dave has left a legacy here that will always be remembered. Our deepest sypathy to Arlene and her family.

To the Gaidas family:
Having grown up in Brighton Park and playing baseball with both Ken and Dave (Jr.), I remember Mr. Gaidas (Sr.) vividly as the same type of "champion" fan of my baseball-playing days as I'm sure both Dave and Ken do of my own father.
Your father was a wonderful man, and I'm sure nothing anyone can say or do can ease the depth of your loss at this time. Remember now that your dad is now able to watch over you all as he was never able to do before - and he had done a pretty great job all these years nevertheless! He is now your very own personal guardian angel, and will always be there in spirit for you to remember lovingly. My family and I offer our prayers for the repose of his soul.

Our sympathy to the family. I (Helen) went to grammar school with Dave. My husband played ball in the neighborhood with him. Dave also did the burial of most of our family. My aunt Jo was a friend of Aunt Val. So many memories and ties
he will not be forgotten. My husband and I work with stroke patients and their families so we have an idea of what you all went through. Not only will we miss him the whole Lithuanian Community will.
Love and Prayers

My sincere condolences to the family of a fine man. I knew Dave from the old neighborhood of Brighton park. I most remember the day I went for my physical to enter the Army in 1954. Yep, the same day David took his physical. We had an enjoyable time together. I'll always remember him as a fine friend....
